14 judges appointed in three high courts

New Delhi, 13 October

The Center on Wednesday notified the appointments of 14 judges to the High Courts of Telangana, Kerala and Orissa, who will get seven, four and three judges respectively.

This is the fourth set of appointments notified by the government after the recent recommendations by the SC collegium.

Of the seven appointed as judges of the Telangana High Court, six were judicial officers, while one was a judicial member of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT).

They are: P Sri Sudha, C Sumalatha, G Radha Rani, M Laxman, N Tukaramji and A Venkateswara Reddy (Judicial Officer) and ITAT member P Madhavi Devi.

The judicial officers appointed as additional judges of the Kerala High Court were CK Jayachandran, Sophie Thomas, PG Ajithkumar and CS Sudha. Among the three appointed as judges of the Orissa High Court were Mriganka Shekhar Sahu (advocate) and judicial officers Radha Krishna Patnaik and Shashikant Mishra. – tns
