10 killed after van collides with tree in UP’s Pilibhit

Pilibhit, 23 June

Ten people died when a pickup van collided with a tree on Puranpur Highway under Gajraula police station area on Thursday morning.

Seven others seriously injured have been admitted to the hospital.

According to reports, the van was moving at high speed when the driver blinked and the vehicle hit a tree.

Seventeen passengers in the vehicle were returning from Haridwar after taking a holy dip in the Ganges.

Eight people died on the spot, while two later succumbed to their injuries.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the death of the people and directed the officials to ensure proper treatment to the injured.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. IANS
