One person was killed and four others were injured when a bus fell off a flyover in Ghaziabad on Wednesday night. According to officials, the private bus was taking passengers to Noida when the incident took place. Police said that the injured are currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.
“We got information that a bus has fallen from the flyover at Bhatia More. Prima facie it appears that the bus has lost control. There were few passengers in the bus. One person died and others were taken to hospital due to fatal injuries. Further investigation is pending,” said a senior Ghaziabad police officer.
According to the police, the bus changed lanes while driving on the flyover, when a motorcycle came on the way. When the driver lost control and hit the railing, the bus tried to move out of the way. Due to the collision, the bus fell on the road from the flyover.
One of the injured was a passerby who collided with the damaged part of the bus. Officials said police are ascertaining the identity of the injured. Sihani Gate Police has not received any complaint regarding the incident.
