1 arrested, 1 wanted after Lakefield Road business burglarized: Peterborough County OPP – Peterborough | globalnews.ca

One has been arrested and search is on for the other break in in a business earlier this month.

According to Peterborough County OPPOn November 19 at approximately 7:15 p.m. officers responded to a report break and enter on a business lakefield road In Selwyn Township Just north of town.

The complainant stated that video surveillance showed two individuals attempting to enter the business.

Officers were on the business within minutes and saw a vehicle with two people in the parking lot. Police say the vehicle sped away when officers arrived.

“The officers did not pursue due to concerns for public safety, but the license plate was obtained,” the OPP said.

A person has been identified. Details of the arrest were released on Wednesday.

Christopher Elwes-Peacock, 19, of Peterborough, was charged with committing an indictable offence, theft under $5,000, flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and driving without an authorized driver .

He was released and is due to appear in Peterborough court on 20 December.

The other suspect was described as wearing a plaid, long-sleeved shirt, pink or purple hat, dark pants, and carrying a dark backpack with reflective bands.
